Chrome
extensions
have become popular
tools
, enhancing our browsing experience and offering a variety of functionalities. Among the
top Chrome extensions
for
online shopping
, MyRegistry Shipping Address Assist seemed to promise a seamless
shopping
experience. However, it falls far short of user expectations, garnering an aggregate rating of only 2.33 out of 5. This article will delve into the reasons behind the low rating, providing an insightful review based on user feedback.
Functionality and User Experience: An Overview
Like a
shopping list organizer
or
wishlist manager
, the MyRegistry Shipping Address Assist extension is designed to improve the online shopping process. The idea is simple: before clicking 'Buy' on MyRegistry.com, the extension allows you to quickly grab your recipient's name and address. This
information
is intended to follow you through the merchant checkout process, eliminating the need to toggle back and forth between pages. However, users have found that in practice, the extension does not fulfill its promises, contributing to its low rating.
What Works and What Doesn't: User Reviews
Despite its low rating, MyRegistry Shipping Address Assist is not without its admirers. One user, Deep Desai, found it to be "really helpful," sticking with him until he bought the product. This suggests that some users do find the extension to be a useful online shopping assistant.
However, negative reviews far outweigh the positive ones. Users like Portia Cloud and Tracy L. Crawford found the extension to be virtually useless. According to their reviews, the extension failed to autofill shipping information, necessitating manual entry. This issue undermined the very functionality the extension is supposed to provide, leading to frustration and wasted time. Users also expressed privacy concerns, feeling that they had been "scammed into giving up [their] email" without receiving any real value in return.
Is MyRegistry Shipping Address Assist Worth It?
Based on the user reviews and aggregate rating, it's hard to recommend MyRegistry Shipping Address Assist as a reliable shopping list app or wishlist creator. While it may work for some, the majority of users found it to be more of a hindrance than a help. Whether you're building a Christmas wishlist, using Google shopping, or looking for a deal aggregator, there are many other Chrome extensions out there that offer more reliable assistance with your online shopping needs.

Worked perfectly! Did have to try it a couple of times as it was the first time I had used the system.
well... it didn't populate fields at pottery barn website... but did hold a pop-up open with the address in it. not worth the install IMO.
it did not work!!! after a few minutes of clicking and re-clicking I stopped. Either work like the instructions say or don't offer it!!!!!
Wasn't useful at all. Installed it. It didn't pop up at Target at first (where I was purchasing the gift). Then went back to registry and again clicked on the item I wanted to buy. It finally shows up as a popup on Target. I hit the "populate" button to autofill the shipping info. Nothing. Click again. Nothing. One more time for good measure. Nothing.
Pretty useless overall. Went from registry to install to store. All it did was create a pop up with the registry info, which I double checked. I still had to type info in. In the end, I'm going to uninstall, but feel as I've just been scammed into giving up my email again.
Its stick with us till we bought the product - really helpful.
